How to prepare paneer butter masala?

Paneer butter masala is one of the favorite paneer recipes ever for all vegetarians.
It is a Punjabi recipe, which is served in all Indian restaurants.
It can be served along with any Indian breads or steamed rice.
Creaminess of the gravy makes one go mad about it.
Let us see how to prepare this scrumptious recipe in a quick and simple way.

Ingredients:

1. Paneer cubes (desired size) - 60 gms
2. chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies – 1 cup each
3. Fresh garlic and ginger paste- 1 table spoon
4. milk – 1 cup
5. Cashew nuts – 20 gms
6. butter- 2 cubes
7. Cheese (used for garnishing)
8. Coriander powder, red chilli powder, methi(fenugreek)  powder,jeera (cumin seed) powder- 1 tea spoon each
9. water – sufficient amount
10. lemon, coriander leaves.

Preparation:
1. Heat some butter in a pan and sauté some fresh garlic ginger paste until its raw aroma goes off.
2. Add chopped onion to it and stir until its colour changes.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté well for 2-3 minutes.
4. Take half of the content and grind it for the gravy.
5. Blend some milk and few cashews.
6. Mix required amount of coriander powder, chilli powder, methi(fenugreek seed) powder, jeera(cumin) powder in milk and put aside.
7. Add the tomato and onion paste back to the pan.
8. Add some salt and turmeric powder.
9. Add cashew-milk paste to it.
10. Add milk and powder mix (mentioned in step 6)to the content.
11. Stir well and leave for 2 minutes.
12. Add paneer cubes to the content and stir well.
13. Leave the mixture for 5 minutes; add some water if required for desired amount of gravy.
14. Switch off the stove and squeeze some lemon if required.
15. transfer to serving bowl and garnish with grated cheese and chopped coriander leaves.

16. Serve hot with Indian breads or steamed rice.

I bet 7 out of 10 go crazy about Maggie. I am one among such crazy Maggie lovers..

Let me show you today how to prepare hot and spicy Maggie at the work place...

Whenever you have late night shifts and extended working hours, Maggie is the best recipe that brings you out of the tiredness.

It can be prepared in 3 minutes at office cafeteria...








All you need is :

1. A micro oven.

2. Maggie masala.

3.Oven proof container (tupper ware box replaces this)

4. Water


Preparation:

1. Without opening, Maggie packet, crush it partially.



2. Transfer the contents of packet into an ovenproof bowl. (Tupperware box can be used)

3.  Add some hot water (from coffee wending machine at workplace) until the content submerges.

4. Add the masala to the contents.
  
5. Put it in oven and cook for 3 minutes at least.

6. Take it out and mix it well.

7. Hot spicy Maggie is ready to taste now.

How to prepare watermelon curry recipe?

Watermelon- which is a juicy, pulpy fruit can also be served as a spicy curry.
Yes, I am purely talking about watermelon.
The outer shell of watermelon which we dump as waste can be used to prepare a delicious curry.
Here, I give you an idea to make best out of waste.
Let us start our preparation now.



Ingredients:
1.  Water melon green/white portion (peeled and chopped)
2.  Oil
3. Seasonings (mustard seeds, cumin seeds, black gram dal and bengal gram)
4. Finely chopped ginger and green chillies
5. Curry leaves and coriander
6. Coriander powder (dhaniya powder)
7. Onions and tomatoes (finely chopped)
8. Salt and chilli powder
9. Water

 Preparation:                                                                                                                
  1. Peel off and finely chop the outer skin of water melon.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan and crackle mustard and cumin seeds.
  3. Add black gram and Bengal gram.
  4. Stir and Sauté the ingredients till seeds turn golden yellow.
  5. Sauté chopped green chillies and ginger to the mixture and add curry leaves.
  6. Add chopped onions and allow it to fry till its color changes.
  7. Now add chopped tomatoes and allow it to boil for few minutes.
  8. Add chopped water melon white.
  9. Add some salt and coriander powder and stir well.
  10. Close the lid and pour some water on top of it.
  11. Leave it for 10 minutes.
  12. Finally add chilli powder and stir well.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with boiled rice.

How to prepare JEERA RICE in an electric cooker?



JEERA RICE

Jeera (cumin seeds) is most often used as seasonings in all Indian dishes.

Ever wonder why?

There are plenty of reasons for which we add cumin seeds into our recipes. Besides its flavored taste it has got many health benefits.

·        It is very good for digestion.
·        It can fight against constipation
·        It fights against cancer
·        It can prevent anemia.
·        It can boost your memory.
Switching on to our course, gas stove preparation may differ from my preparation yet I promise that it takes only 25 minutes in an electric cooker.
Generally cooked rice is added separately to the seasonings and vegetables. But as we have no such feasibility, I show you how to prepare it in one go.

All we require is:

(Required) 
                               
1.      Butter/ oil – required amount
2.      Cumin seeds – 2 tablespoons
3.      Chopped ginger/ ginger paste – ½ teaspoon
4.      Chopped chilies – 3 no.s
5.      Soaked rice – 1 cup
6.      Water – 2 ¼ cups
7.      Salt and pepper – sufficient amount
8.      Ghee – 1 teaspoon

(Optional)

1.      Mustard seeds – ½ tablespoon
2.      Chopped onions – 1
3.      Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon


Preparation: 

1.      Turn on the electric cooker and heat some oil/ butter
2.      Add mustard and cumin seeds.(you can avoid mustard seeds)
3.      Fry it properly for good taste.
4.      Add ginger paste/ chopped ginger along with chopped green chilies. (fry for 30 sec)
5.      Add chopped onions if required and allow it to fry till its color changes. (it is completely optional)
6.       Add sufficient water. Followed by salt and pepper. (add a very little amount of pepper powder as green chilies are available)
7.      Allow it to boil for some time.
8.      As it boils, add soaked rice and close the lid.
9.      Mix it well over 5 minutes in between and allow it to boil.
10.   Let the cooker automatically turn off.
11.   Add some ghee and lemon juice if required.
12.   Serve it hot along with vegetable gravy.

How to prepare Poha in an electric cooker (Upma with beaten/flattened rice)?


Poha- a scrumptious, delicious, simple recipe is here to satisfy your taste buds now.

It is a regular breakfast recipe of Maharashtra also called as “Atukula Upma” in my mother tongue. It takes no time to prepare when compared to other breakfasts.

You do not need to go to a grocery store and shop for the stuff. It can be prepared with basic ingredients that are readily available in your kitchen.

Do not worry! A mini kitchen can also do this ;)

As I said, the intention of this blog is to help you, to cook with limited resources and ingredients; here we go, add a second recipe to your menu.

Let us go to our mini kitchen and start preparing this yummy dish.






All you require is (ingredients):

Ingredients
Quantity *
Rinsed flattened/beaten rice
1 cup
Sufficient water
Just to wash and rinse flattened rice
Salt
1 tea spoon (you can add according to your taste)
Turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon
Mustard and cumin seeds
1 teaspoon each
Oil/ butter
2 table spoons
Finely chopped ginger / ginger paste
½ table spoon
Chopped green chillies
2 no.s
Chopped onions
1 large sized or 2 small sized
Chopped tomatoes (bit juicy)
2 no.s
Curry leaves (optional)
8 leaves
Tomato sauce (optional)
Very little quantity
Lemon juice (optional)
1 tablespoon


*Note: Quantity can be increased or decreased according to your taste and requirement.
You can also add other vegetables like capsicum depending upon availability.



Preparation:

1. Wash 1 cup of flattened rice and rinse it with water for about 5 minutes.
2. Add sufficient salt and pepper to it and put it aside.
3. Meanwhile, switch on the electric cooker with butter/oil in it.
4.  After butter gets heated, add mustard and cumin seeds
5. Allow it to fry till you hear the crackling sound of mustard seeds.
6. Add chopped ginger/ ginger paste, curry leaves along with green chillies and stir it well for 30 seconds.
7. Add chopped onions and fry until its colour changes to slight brown.
8. Add chopped tomatoes (juicy tomatoes help a lot).
9. Mix it well and leave for 1 minute by closing it with a lid.
10. Add rinsed flattened rice to the mixture and stir it well.
11. Sprinkle a little amount of water if required (also, you can add some tomato sauce for lubrication)
12. Leave it for 2 minutes and switch it off.
13. Squeeze some lemon and serve hot in a serving plate.
